    Since my late mother was diagnosed as diabetic some years ago, and my younger sister is a full-blown diabetic [now using insulin injections] I decided some years ago, it was in my best interests to keep my blood sugar under control. I started by going to a local chemist once a month to have it checked. In the course of time the clinic sister suggested I should go and have a full blood test. This I did and although it showed I was not a diabetic, [the doctor did suggest that I was “borderline”] he did not recommend that I start taking the normal medication given to diabetics.
