Sweet Beef Curry

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons mild curry powder
  • 750g beef mince
  • ¼ cup fruit chutney
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • ½ cup sultanas
  • ½ cup Chicken stock
  • Thick Greek-style yoghurt, to serve



  1. Heat oil in a large heavy-based saucepan over medium heat. Add onion. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until tender.
  2. Increase heat to high. Add curry powder and mince. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, for 5 to 6 minutes or until browned.
  3. Stir in chutney, apple, sultanas and stock or water. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture thickens.
  4. Top with a dollop of yoghurt.
  5. Serve.
